My Father-in-Law’s Home in Ruin in California Mudslides – “Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is There.”

My wife’s father, stepmother, and brother were rescued by firefighters at 5am Tuesday morning from the second floor of their home. We are so grateful for the brave firefighters who saved their lives and our family is heartbroken for the loss of so many of our friends and neighbors.

The following day my father-in-law’s State Farm agent called him and said something like – “We have you covered.” As he explains it, he could have reached out over the phone and hugged him.

I thought to myself, “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.”

We want to express our gratitude to Michael Tipsord (CEO of State Farm), Ed Attlesey(family’s agent of 20 years), and Rand Harbert (CMO) for being such a great neighbor and being there in such a time of need for our family.

As my amazing father-in-law put it:

“We are working one step at a time. Love you. Love family. Our home loved us. It saved our lives. It should have collapsed. It kept us safe. A home of love and family. Now we dig out.”
