Lessons from Sigma Chi
ALL I EVER NEEDED TO KNOW ABOUT LEADERSHIP, I LEARNED FROM SIGMA CHI
Krach is often asked where he learned his transformational leadership skills — at the Harvard Business School? At General Motors? In Silicon Valley? He always replies, with a smile, that he learned almost everything he knows about leadership from Sigma Chi as an undergrad at Purdue University.
HAVING A SAFE PLACE TO EXPERIMENT, TAKE RISKS, AND FAIL IS PRICELESS
Krach reflects that Sigma Chi gave him priceless opportunities to learn leadership in a safe, family-like environment. He learned a lot of important lessons – by trial and error – on the Old Masters Central Committee and as president of the Purdue chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity. Most of what he knows about building winning teams in business, he learned at Sigma Chi.
DIVERSITY OF THOUGHT IS THE CATALYST FOR GENIUS
Sigma Chi taught Krach that a team with different temperaments, talents, convictions and diversity-of-thought is the catalyst for true genius. This leadership lesson has proven invaluable in building Silicon Valley companies, serving Purdue and Sigma Chi Fraternity.
SIGMA CHI VALUES ARE ALL FOUNDED ON TRUST
Sigma Chi core values are Fraternity, Courage, Wisdom, Integrity, High Ambition, Self-Control, Courtesy, and Fidelity in his years as a business leader, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and diplomat, Krach has learned that all of those values revolve around the principle of trust.
