A conversation with US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo

US companies are increasingly considering relocating their operations from China, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said, after many had to close their Russian operations earlier this year amid Moscow’s war against Ukraine. Secretary Raimondo spoke with Keith Krach, co-chair of the Global Tech Security Commission—a joint initiative of the Atlantic Council’s Global China Hub and the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue University about how the Department of Commerce has begun implementing the CHIPS and Science Act to compete with China.

Driven by our mission of “shaping the global future together,” the Atlantic Council is a nonpartisan organization that galvanizes US leadership and engagement in the world, in partnership with allies and partners, to shape solutions to global challenges.
