Keith Krach is an entrepreneur, former U.S. diplomat, and civic leader. He currently serves as CEO of Freedom 250, Chairman and Co-Founder of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue, and Chairman of the U.S.-Taiwan Business Council. He previously served as U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment and as Chairman and CEO of DocuSign; co-founded Ariba; and became the youngest-ever vice president at General Motors. Keith Krach is an entrepreneur, former U.S. diplomat, and civic leader whose career has focused on building companies, institutions, and alliances at the intersection of technology, trust, and freedom.

He currently serves as CEO of Freedom 250, Chairman and Co-Founder of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue, and Chairman of the U.S.-Taiwan Business Council. The Krach Institute created and leads the discipline of Tech Diplomacy, aligning governments, companies, and allies to accelerate trusted technologies that strengthen freedom, security, and prosperity.

Krach previously served as U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment. In that role, he led economic-security initiatives focused on trusted technology, supply-chain resilience, and U.S. leadership in strategic technology sectors. He helped launch the Clean Network, advanced U.S.-Taiwan economic and technology cooperation, supported efforts to strengthen semiconductor supply chains, and promoted trusted technology partnerships among democratic nations.

Before public service, Krach built and led category-defining technology companies. He served as Chairman and CEO of DocuSign, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of Ariba, and was a founding team member of Rasna Corporation. Earlier in his career, he became the youngest-ever vice president at General Motors and helped launch GMF Robotics, a joint venture between GM and FANUC.

Krach is a former Chairman of the Purdue Board of Trustees. He earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has been recognized for leadership in entrepreneurship, manufacturing, public service, and technology.

Krach Institute and Tech Diplomacy

Following his government service, Krach co-founded the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue to advance the field of technology diplomacy and help leaders understand the national-security, economic, and values-based dimensions of emerging technologies.

The Institute works to ensure that trusted technology, developed, deployed, and governed by democratic values, prevails over authoritarian control and secures freedom in the 21st century.

The Institute’s educational platform, the Tech Diplomacy Academy, provides online courses and certificates designed to help leaders understand critical and emerging technologies and make informed decisions in a rapidly changing technology landscape.

Freedom 250

Krach serves as CEO of Freedom 250, a national effort connected to the United States’ 250th anniversary. Freedom 250 focuses on civic participation, service, innovation, entrepreneurship, and America’s next 250 years.
